Question want some feedback

ok i know the nerf thread is epic in volume BUT i have a question that i need answered. and if it isnt to much to ask lets TRY and keep it constructive.. no penguin poop Pic's... lol. ok. i am NOT a skill expert i dont understand all the builds and the way this compliments that. HOWEVER i do understand that certain skills get nerfed in the name of balance in PvP especially. when it comes to PvP i believe balance is essential. BUT when it comes to the nerfing of loot (quality and volume) i get really baffled. now if plop plop greasyfeet (grawl boss no doubt) drops the rarest of rare items and ectos and is an easy farm then fine gotta nerf that somehow i suppose. but when A-net takes the monster nerf bat to an entire area what is the purpose? now before everyone lights this thread up like a torch stop and think about it. what was accomplished by nerfing the trolls in talus chute? mino's in the crystal desert?? maybe the vaetiir in bjora marches??? <<< thats a new one . that little sweetheart slipped in after the shamrock removal. let me tell ya this isnt a piss and moan post. i farm whether stuff drops or not. i do it because its fun to kill stuff. but ive always wondered what is truley GAINED by nerfing simple little runs that make some cash for people. it was a diamond run. no one was farmin millions on trolls???? maybe bots but ya know what theyre every FREAKIN where now. zaishen bots good grief!!!! sad sad stuff. anyways the question still stands. what is gained by the AREA nerf??

Just because you weren't doesn't mean others weren't.

Areas are nerfed because they are over farmed.

And changing an area to make it difficult to farm isn't exactly a nerf. I can only assume that's what you mean here.

Because if 3000 people solo the same area for 5 hours a day. Netting 20k gold an hour thats 300 million gold entering the game in a 5 hour period. There were places 20k an hour was possible. You have more then that in bots running around and regular players that were doing it. Thus flooding the economy and making everyone rich.

Getting rich isn't ment to be simple. You are supposed to have to take time and work at getting rich.

Nerfing down amount and quality slows down the gold intake. So the market isn't flooded. OR changing how the skills work or what skills the monsters have slows it down. OR adding in monsters(talking about dying nightmares here if anyone played back then) get added in to make solo harder.

ok i think my wall of text was worded poorly. what i meant is that in the example of trolls 44 monks killed the trolls and made some cash. i made alot of money but it was a massive grind. now UW is high end gear and ectos. COF is a long and big loot run. plus greens relics challices and on and on, i understand the nerfing of that sort of run. im not against the nerf of things, im simply baffled why little things like the trolls and hydras ... stuff lke that kid nerfed? if its because you can solo it, then that doesnt hold water. people used skills provided in game to create original builds to kill critters in that area. dont kill the loot change the skill id think?? ohh hell i dont know. just seems backwards.

I think that the question now is, with Anet New policy for gold trading for real money, would they be restoring the drop rate system to a higher level?

Originally it was droped mostly I would say for bots overfarming an area. And of course some people doing farming in the same areas. but what you could get farming by yourself does not compare to what bots where making.

I still remember being in the kurzik side and seeing literary hundreds of monks swarming to go farm. It was kinda funny seeing them line up to the merchant and then to exit.

I dont mind making an area harder, but would like to see the drop rate increased.

If people farm one area too much, it gets changed. That's how it works, and that's how it's always worked. It's the only way to keep an endless amount of gold from flooding the economy.

If you don't believe me, search Google and see how many hits you get for buying gold in GW.

If you change the skill that impacts only one particular farm (which the skill probably wasn't mean to be used for anyway), it changes the effect of that skill in the rest of the game (how it was intended to work). Therefore, the farmed area gets changed. It's the only solution that makes sense.

well this is what i wanted, already ive seen a couple ideas i think got merit. Katsumi i wasnt saying they changed it to make it too hard, in fact thats something i could get behind. Actually make it impossible to solo. that would be fine by me. what i was objecting to is the virtual vasectomy they gave the trolls so you no longer get drops hardly at all. i like skill and monster nerfs. if it makes it more difficult i think thats the true way to discourage the massive farm issues. BOTS BE DAMNED!!!!! lol granite citedel monk lol!!!

So you don't like lootscaling is basically what you're saying? I don't think you're the first person to post something like that here.

Some people will also farm anything, no matter how hard it is.

It's hard to make a farm impossible without making it impossible to play through normally as well. See: raiding in WoW.

kat, thanks for the link. thats precisely what i was pokin at. albeit terribly. ive always been in favor of the little snare they throw in to trip you up. avicara, dying nightmares etc. these things simply add a wrinkle and make the game more fun imo. i just hate loot scaling!!!!!
